A Conversation With Jay Duplass

Writer-director Jay Duplass has collaborated with his brother, Mark Duplass throughout his career. The two rose to prominence with their DIY shorts This is John and Scrapple, which garnered high praise at Sundance. The two followed up with a string of features in the mumblecore movement including The Puffy Chair, Cyrus and Baghead. Jay Duplass is now acting in the Amazon Studios comedy-drama Transparent and with his brother Mark, shares the helm of the HBO series Togetherness, which has been renewed for a second season. This conversation was recorded at the 21st Austin Film Festival in 2014 and was moderated by Austin American Statesman reporter Matthew Odam.
