Austin Film Festival's On Story

Screenwriter Michelle Ashford is best known for her work on the 2010 miniseries, The Pacific. Her current series, Masters Of Sex is based on Thomas Maier’s biography of legendary sex researchers Dr William Masters and Virginia Johnson. The Showtime drama stars Michael Sheen and Lizzy Caplan, and returns for its third season later in 2015.

Scott Frank's screenwriting credits include Little Man Tate, Get Shorty, Minority Report, Marley and Me and A Walk Among the Tombstones. He’ll be joining us this Sunday March 1st 2015 for live discussion on writing, and to mark the event, we dug into the AFF vault for a recording from way back in 1999 at the sixth Austin Film Festival.

A Conversation With Danny Boyle

Academy Award® winning director Danny Boyle needs little introduction with a filmography including Trainspotting, 28 Days Later and Slumdog Millionaire. Most recently, Boyle is the executive producer and co-creator of the Channel 4 comedy/drama Babylon and his next film is slated to be the Steve Jobs biopic starring Michael Fassbender. This conversation was recorded in 2008 at the 15th Austin Film Festival and was moderated by film critic Christopher Kelly.
